When Cody Parkey missed that field goal in the playoffs last season, it was nothing short of a disaster for the Bears. But that disaster has turned into a living nightmare for Chicago, who doesn’t have a reliable kicker heading into 2019. The Bears have invited as many as eight kickers in for a tryout over the summer but they still don’t seem to have a clue who will get the job for Week 1 or how long of a leash that kicker might have once the season starts.

Chicago’s offense isn’t what you would call explosive, so they’ll need a kicker who can finish off drives with 3 points when they can’t reach the end zone. Without a reliable kicker, retaining their NFC North crowd will be difficult.
