The only thing worse than having two quarterbacks competing for a job is having three. Washington isn’t planning on having Alex Smith in 2019, and they’re holding out hope he’ll be able to return in 2020. In the meantime, they have to figure out the best way to proceed with Colt McCoy, Case Keenum, and rookie Dwayne Haskins.

They don’t want to push Haskins if he’s not ready, but neither McCoy or Keenum will inspire much confidence if they expect to contend for a playoff spot. On paper, the Redskins have three quarterbacks, but in reality, it’s possible that they’ll have none that they can rely on to win games for them this season.
