DeAngelo Hall
After being a top-10 pick in 2004, Hall was well on his way to living up to the hype and expectations. He was a Pro Bowler with the Falcons in 2005 and 2006. He was so good that the Raiders decided that they had to have him, giving Atlanta two draft picks, including a second-rounder, to acquire Hall in 2008. They then gave him a seven-year, $70 million contract, believing Hall would anchor their secondary for a long time.
However, that move backfired, and did so much quicker than most of the terrible contracts in NFL history. Hall wasn’t a good fit for the team and didn’t seem to have the same edge after he got his money. He played just eight games with the Raiders and was released in November of the first year of that seven-year contract, which is almost hard to fathom.
