Listed at just 5’6’’ and 171 pounds, Lionel “Little Train” James made a massive impact in his second NFL season with the Chargers in 1985. Despite the handicap of being a running back, he actually led the AFC with 86 receptions. His 1,027 receiving yards was set an NFL record for a running back. With his rushing and return yards added to that, he also set the NFL record for all-purpose yards in a season.

Unfortunately, both records have since been broken. Little Train was also never able to replicate those kinds of numbers in three more seasons with the Chargers.
