13. Raymond Berry
You can’t write the story of the great Johnny Unitas without Berry’s name coming up time and time again. Unitas and Berry made up arguably the best quarterback-wide receiver tandem of the 1950s and 60s. They were almost akin to the modern-day Tom Brady-Rob Gronkowski combination, although Berry was a tall but skinny pass catcher at 6’2’’ and 187 lbs. Without much natural athleticism, Berry worked hard to be the best route runner he could be and have the best pair of hands in football.
His hard work and attention to detail paid off handsomely, as he was critical to the Baltimore Colts winning the famous 1958 NFL Championship Game. The following year, Berry won the wide receiver triple crown while helping the Colts to another championship. While he’s been passed by countless others in all of the major statistical categories, there’s no denying that Berry’s accomplishments on the field are hard to match by any receiver of any era.
