Before Eli Manning forged his reputation for shining the brightest in the playoffs, he has a very rough “first taste” of just how tough the NFL postseason can be. After leading the Giants back to the playoffs for the first time during his career there, Manning and the Giants were shut out 23-0 by the Carolina Panthers. Manning completed only 10 passes all game, for 113 yards; he also threw three interceptions, and was sacked four times.
