After growing up in a small town and being a little undersized, Georgia was the only school to offer Davis a scholarship. That was surprising for a guy who was also a baseball and track star in high school. Of course, Davis was happy to suit up for the Bulldogs, ultimately becoming an All-American who played both linebacker and free safety.

After the Panthers drafted him, Davis trained at both positions before eventually settling in as a linebacker and becoming one of the finest defensive players in Carolina history. Davis ended up having five straight seasons with 100 or more tackles from 2012 to 2016. He also made the Pro Bowl three straight years from 2015 to 2017 and stayed in the NFL through the 2020 season.
