Stephen Paea
You want talk about strong at the point of attack? Stephen Paea doesn’t have the prototypical size you look for in an NFL defensive tackle, standing only 6’1 and 310 lbs. But he makes up for that by being damn near immovable at the point of attack, given the superhuman strength he possesses. At the 2011 NFL Combine, Paea jacked up 49 repetitions of 225 lbs in the bench press, an absolutely ridiculous number that still stands as the second highest total ever recorded.
And he’s not just some bench press savant either; in college, Paea was also the state runner-up in the shot put, with a top-throw of 53 feet, and a state qualifier in the discus with a best of 153 feet. Imagine being able to launch a 16 lb ball more than 50 feet… Most people can barely throw a football that far!
