Andrea Bargnani (Italy)

You can argue that Andrea Bargnani doesn’t belong on a list like this, and he’s easily the most successful NBA international on this list, though that is damning with the faintest of praise. Bargnani averaged double digit points every year in the league until his last season. He even made All Rookie as a 21-year-old and later scored 21 points a game for the Raptors.

So why does he feel like such a bust? Bargnani scored empty, inefficient points and was atrocious on defense, and Toronto fans never embraced him. Many would even point to Masai Ujiri’s magical trade of Bargnani for two Knicks first-round picks as the moment everything began to change. As one Raptors fan sign said at the championship parade: Started from Bargnani, now we here.
