Queer Eye (Renewed)
Queer Eye’s original run in the early 2000s was groundbreaking, and the reboot has been nearly as successful. The show features five gay men helping to make over the lives of ordinary, less fabulous people.
The show is successful because of its content and because of the representation it provides. This run of the show has included five seasons, but Netflix isn’t done and has renewed the show for a sixth.
Turn Up Charlie (Canceled)
It’s hard to imagine anything with Idris Elba in it failing, but this series was not a success. Elba starred as a disc jockey and reluctant nanny for his more famous friend. The comedy focuses on Charlie’s struggles with success, bachelordom, and what it really means to be successful.
The show made it just 8 episodes before Netflix pulled the plug. Maybe this will allow Elba to take over the long-rumored role of James Bond.
The Witcher (Renewed)
The release of The Witcher was highly anticipated by fantasy fans all over the world. Originally a Polish fantasy series, the books were adapted into an incredibly popular video game series that’s sold over 50 million copies worldwide.
Therefore, it’s no surprise that the first season of the show earned the series a second season. The impossibly handsome Henry Cavill stars as the hero, Geralt of Rivia, as he travels “the Continent” linked in destiny to the princess Ciri.
