10. Drew Brees, Saints (Stay-Away)
Okay, nobody is saying that Brees won’t have a good year. In fact, he has every chance of leading the Saints to the Super Bowl in what will likely be his final season. However, he’s barely been among the top-10 fantasy quarterbacks in recent years, making it clear that his fantasy value is starting to slip.
Even if Brees is completing passes at a high rate, the big plays and the gaudy numbers are becoming a thing of the past. The Saints are poised to win this season with plenty of help from their defense and running game, putting less pressure on Brees to carry them. If he had to, Brees probably could post 300-plus passing yards on a regular basis, but that’s now how the Saints are going to operate this season. If you draft Brees thinking he’ll be a top-5 quarterback, he’s bound to be a bust.
