Tennessee Titans: Marcus Mariota
The Titans still haven’t committed to Mariota long-term, which gives him a lot to prove this season. Mariota has had trouble staying healthy during his first few seasons in the league, and that’s not the only question he’s facing heading into 2019. Tennessee even brought in Ryan Tannehill to be his backup, so the pressure is on Mariota to perform.
That being said, the Titans also need Mariota to have a career year. Despite three straight 9-7 seasons, the Titans haven’t won a division since the Jeff Fisher era and they’ve only reached the playoff once in those three seasons. They have a decent supporting cast, but not one that’s good enough to finish ahead of the Colts, Texans, and Jaguars with an average, injury-prone quarterback, which is what Mariota has been in past seasons.
