Pittsburgh Steelers: Donte Moncrief/James Washington
With Antonio Brown gone, the Steelers shouldn’t be too worried about JuJu Smith-Schuster being able to step in as the team’s no. 1 receiver. He may be a slight drop-off from Brown, but he shouldn’t have a problem being the top target in the passing game. The bigger question is who will take over for Smith-Schuster as Pittsburgh’s no. 2 receiver.
The Steelers signed Donte Moncrief over the off-season with the hope that he can fill that role for them. However, he’s never shown the kind of consistency to be that guy. James Washington is another option. He only had 16 catches as a rookie, but the Steelers are still high on the former 2nd-round pick. He may be the guy that Pittsburgh needs to emerge as the complement to Smith-Schuster in the passing game. Only then will they be able to put Brown’s absence behind them.
