Cartwright was an important part of the early ‘90s three-peat with the Bulls, but by 1997-98 season, Cartwright has transitioned into coaching. The former center added three more NBA championships as a coach.

Cartwright would be kept on as an assistant after the team broke up following the ’98 Finals. In 2001, it would be Cartwright’s turn to be the head coach for the Bulls. He was let go in 2003 after a poor start to his second season in charge.
