The big-man played just one season in Chicago but he brought an important veteran presence to the locker room. The ’97-’98 season was Kleine’s 15th in the NBA. He averaged just 8.6 minutes per game but that was fine with him. This would be his only NBA Championship.

Kleine was once described by a sports reporter as “Never a star, but he accepted his role and was always ready to play every night.” That summed up the career of a man who won an Olympic gold medal and an NBA title. He would play two more seasons in the NBA before retiring. He was an assistant coach at Arkansas, Little Rock for 8 seasons.
