Robert Griffin III
Building off his incredible junior year at Baylor University, which culminated in winning the Heisman Trophy, RG3 went from the no. 2 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft to the NFL’s Offensive Rookie Of The Year and Pro Bowl selection that same year, helping Washington win the NFC East division. But after suffering a devastating knee injury in the playoffs that year and clashing with multiple head coaches, the team parted ways with Griffin. He had an injury-plagued stint with the Browns in 2016, who also released him at the end of the year.
Despite not finding a home during the 2017 season, Griffin found a home as Baltimore’s backup quarterback between 2018 and 2020, starting two games during that span. But after failing to find a team for the 2021 season, RG3 became a college football analyst with ESPN, although the door remains slightly ajar for a return to the football field.
