Vince Young
When Young left the University of Texas as a junior, he ranked no. 1 among Texas quarterbacks in all-time wins. Young led the Longhorns to the 2005 BCS National Championship and then won the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award in 2006. But Young’s career in the NFL began to devolve rapidly thanks to a series of off-the-field incidents, injuries, and clashes with former head coach Jeff Fisher.
After finally leaving the NFL in 2014, Young had a failed attempt at resuming his professional football career when another injury derailed his comeback attempt with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Young also worked for the University of Texas as a development officer for program alumni relations before becoming an assistant in the athletic department in 2021.
