Fantasy: The Trevi Fountain
Rome is full of incredible architecture and notable attractions. One of it’s finest is the Trevi Fountain. It’s the largest Baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous fountains in the world.
The fountain was commissioned in 1730 but the fountain of that quality wasn’t finished until 1762. The original constructor died and the project was finished by another. It’s an incredible piece of art that you have to see on a stop in Rome.
Reality: The Trevi Fountain
There’s no denying the Trevi Fountain is an incredible piece of art, but even Romans will tell you it has lost its luster as the crowds it gathers have overwhelmed it. There are just too many people to enjoy its beauty in piece.
If you are determined to see it make sure you go either very early in the morning or late a night. If you go during the day prepare to be disappointed.
