Is it really forbidden if we can visit it? Incredibly, the Forbidden City has the highest market value of any property in the world at an estimated &70 billion. What you need to worry about as a tourist though, is the fact that 14 million people visit it each year.

There will be nothing sacred about your visit. You’ll be packed wall to wall with others hoping to get a glimpse at what their ancestors would not have been permitted to see. That begs the question if it wasn’t named the Forbidden City, would it lose its allure?
