When the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Evander “Ziggy” Hood late in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft, the expectation was for him to be another “lunchpail”-type player who’d clog things up in the trenches and make life easier for the rest of the defense.

But after moving him around different spots along the defensive line, Hood became little more than a rotational player for the Steelers, who eventually let him walk in free agency after the 2013 season was over.
