Anthony Gonzalez is proof that peak-level Peyton Manning couldn’t take your mailman off his route and turn him into a 800-yard and 5-touchdown receiver. After all, the Indianapolis Colts drafted Anthony Gonzalez late in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft to further bolster the cadre of pass catchers whom Manning targeted during his heyday.

While Gonzalez did get off to a nice start over his first two seasons (catching 94 passes and seven touchdowns), he began to struggle with a serious of injuries that ended his NFL career just three seasons later.
