The reining Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers made offensive tackle Derek Sherrod the first player taken from Mississippi State in the first round of the NFL Draft in 15 years. However, Sherrod couldn’t make his fellow Bulldog alumni proud, as he suffered a nasty injury late in the 2011 season that would force him to miss all of the 2012 season as well.
