Kemba Walker – UCONN (2008-2011)
Despite not being a starter in his first season at UCONN, Kemba Walker was always on the floor. He averaged 25.2 minutes a game, and his 23-point outing against Missouri in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight led the Huskies into the Final Four. Walker’s sophomore season was solid, but it was his junior year that made him one of the elite college players in the nation. He averaged 23.5 ppg along with 4.5 assists. Walker had increased his points average by nearly 10 a game between his sophomore and junior years.
He won the Big East Tournament MVP as the Huskies won the competition. Weeks later he led the Huskies to the NCAA National Championship and was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. The award went along nicely with his 2011 consensus All-American selection. G: 111 Pts: 16.1 Reb: 4.4
