Pete Rose might be the most infamous hitter in the history of major league baseball, in more ways than one. Despite having retired over 30 years ago, Rose is still the all-time MLB leader in games played (3,562), at-bats (14,053), hits (4,256), and singles (3,215). However, there will forever be an asterisk next to the number of hits he registered, as a 2010 report revealed that used cork bats, which thereby enhanced his swinging speed; to this day, he denies those allegations, even with all the evidence saying otherwise. And, of course, everyone knows about his lifetime ban from the game of baseball, because he gambled on the outcomes of games.
