His career as a wide receiver didn’t necessarily live up to his Heisman hype, but Michigan star Desmond Howard dazzled in Super Bowl XXXI, leading the Green Bay Packers to a 35-21 win over the New England Patriots. Howard totaled a jaw dropping 244 return yards, and continuously flipped the field for Green Bay’s offense. When New England scored in the third quarter to pull within seven, Howard took the ensuing kickoff 99 yards to the end zone for the definitive clincher. Fun Fact: Howard is the only kick returner in NFL history to be named Super Bowl MVP.
