CNN: Fredricka Whitfield

Fredricka Whitfield grew up in the shadow of greatness. Her father, Mal Whitfield is an Olympic gold medalist and middle-distance runner. She certainly got her drive from her father as nothing has gotten in the way of her rising to the highest levels of her career.

Before joining CNN, Whitefield spent time working for NBC as a news correspondent on NBC Nightly News and the Today show. These days you can find her anchoring the weekend edition of CNN Newsroom.
