Amanpour had an incredible childhood, spending time in both Iran and England growing up before the family finally settling for good in England due to the Iran-Iraq War. She moved to the United States to study journalism at the University of Rhode Island.

She started at CNN in 1983 as a reporter, and today hosts a show that bears her name. it’s been a remarkable career that has also included stops on 60 Minutes, ABC, and PBS in between her time at CNN.
