There are two industry titans when it comes to cable news, everyone else is hoping for their table scraps when it comes to ratings.
The first is CNN. When Ted Turner founded the Cable News Network in 1980 it was revolutionary; the first 24-hour cable news channel in the world. In fact, today CNN is broadcast in 212 countries and territories all over the world with their expanded CNN International channel.
A newcomer to the cable news game by CNN’s standards, Fox News is just 24 years old having been founded in 1996 by Australian Rupert Murdoch. While CNN attempts to be an impartial news source, Fox News was created to broadcast especially to conservative audiences.
These two networks are two of the three most viewed cable news channels in the country, but what makes them so engaging is not just their content. It’s the personalities that deliver the breaking news and commentary to your homes at all hours of the day and night.
