Indianapolis Colts, Curtis Painter (2011)
The Indianapolis Colts won the “Suck for (Andrew) Luck” sweepstakes during the 2011 season, thanks in large part to the season-long recovery needed by Peyton Manning, and the “work” (or lack thereof) put by Curtis Painter as his replacement. If there’s one thing you need to know about Painter’s performance that year, it’s the fact that he was 0-8 in the eight games that he started.
We should’ve seen such a performance coming, as in Painter’s first NFL action, he threw an interception and fumbled the ball, which the New York Jets recovered and scored a touchdown. Clearly, Painter’s destiny was meant to be nothing more than holding a clipboard for someone else, although his performance in 2011 was so bad that he was out of the NFL after the 2013 season.
