Minnesota Vikings, Christian Ponder (2013)

Christian Ponder’s NFL career ended really before it even started, thanks to a perfect storm of likely being drafted earlier than deserved (12th overall in the 2011 NFL Draft), instability at offensive coordinator, bad offensive lines leading him to fear for his life, and little (if any) help from the supporting cast of skill positions around him, outside of Adrian Peterson.

The Vikings went 10-6 in 2012 almost in spite of Ponder (getting 2,097 yards rushing from Peterson certainly helped), but the following year, Ponder struggled mightily, going 2-6-1 in nine starts. After the 2014 season, the Vikings parted ways with Ponder, and he never made another NFL start.
