When Georgetown was at their best, the Hoyas were churning out NBA ballers. The 1990s NBA was littered with Hoyas like Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutombo, and Allen Iverson. Who was leading the way for the Hoyas you ask? Why that would be the legendary “Big John” Thompson.

Thompson coached the Hoyas from 1972-1999, and in that time he led them to seven conference titles, three of the school’s five Final Fours, and won the 1984 National. This run was followed up by Thompson’s son John Thompson III, who lead the Hoyas to three Big East titles and a Final Four. These days Patrick Ewing is at the helm, trying to lead the program back to glory.
