7. Mike Williams, drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers
As a South Carolina native, Williams stayed close to home in college, playing at Clemson. He started three games as a true freshman, hauling in 20 passes and three touchdowns. Williams then racked up over 1,000 receiving yards and six touchdowns as a sophomore, becoming the next star in a long line of great Clemson wide receivers.
Unfortunately, Williams broke a bone in his neck on the first series of his junior year, keeping him out for the rest of the season. But he came back healthy and strong the following year, catching 98 passes for over 1,300 yards and 11 touchdowns. He caught eight passes for 94 yards and a touchdown in Clemson’s win over Alabama in the National Championship Game, ending his college career on a bang. Williams also earned his undergraduate degree before becoming a top-10 NFL Draft pick in 2017.
