Josh Norman
Josh Norman’s rise from 5th round pick out of Coastal Carolina in 2012, to becoming one of the NFL’s best cornerbacks just a few years later, was one of the best NFL story lines in the mid 2010s. After the 2015 season in which he was named First-team All-Pro and was ranked 11th on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2016, Norman signed a five-year, $75 million deal with the Washington Redskins.
Unfortunately, Norman never lived up to the hype during his time in D.C. and was often criticized for being more concerned with fame than football. In a 2018 interview, former Redskins defensive back DeAngelo Hall weighed in on Norman’s mindset; “Josh is, I think, in love with being a celebrity right now and not necessarily being a football player,” Hall said.
