The fact that Chris Thompson is playing football is remarkable, let alone the fact that he’s quietly become the most valuable player on the offense of the Washington Redskins. Because of his size (or lack thereof: he’s listed at 5’8 and 195lbs), Thompson has endured a myriad of injuries since his days at Florida State, including a broken back and a torn ACL.

But in 2017, the Redskins fully unleashed Thompson on the rest of the league, when he averaged just under eight yards per touch, and averaged 13.1 yards per reception on 39 catches. Through the first two games of the 2018 season, Thompson piled up 28 touches, including 19 receptions (second most among all running backs).
