Derek Anderson
Since returning from their hiatus in 2001, the Browns have had exactly two seasons in which they won double-digit games. One of those seasons came in 2007 when they finished with a 10-6 record. That success was largely thanks to the efforts of quarterback Derek Anderson, who had a career year throwing to (fellow one-hit wonder) wide receiver Braylon Edwards.
Anderson threw the fifth most touchdown passes in the league that year (29) and finished in the top 10 in passing yards. But he then endured two injury-plagued seasons after that, before leaving Cleveland. In 11 seasons following his magical 2007 campaign in which he threw 29 touchdown passes, Anderson threw a combined total of just 26 touchdowns. Somehow, Anderson didn’t retire until after the 2018 season, spending nearly a decade as a backup.
