Neither of these soccer stars was born in the United States, but both have gone on to represent the Stars and Stripes on the pitch. How does that happen you ask? Sydney Leroux was born and raised in Canada to an American father and Canadian mother. She chose to play for the States when she was eligible.

Dom Dwyer was born in England but made his career playing in Major League Soccer in America. When the couple got married, Dwyer became eligible for citizenship and therefore was eligible to play for the U.S. Men’s National Team.
