After working a variety of odd jobs in his native Aiken, South Carolina, Paul White gained entry into the wrestling world after Danny Bonaduce of all people introduced him to Hulk Hogan. Hogan was impressed by the way 7-foot, 383lb White worked the crowd, and endorsed White to former World Championship Wrestling Vice President Eric Bischoff. From there, White — who first went by the name “The Giant,” and then later “The Big Show” — went on to become a seven-time world champion during his career in the WCW and WWE.
