Arguably the rock in which one of the greatest defenses of all time was built upon (the 2000 Baltimore Ravens’ defense), Ray Lewis quickly established himself as not only the “franchise player” for the Ravens, but one of the very best linebackers in the NFL very early on in his NFL career.

Over the course of his illustrious 17-year tenure in Baltimore, Lewis was named an All-Pro 10 different times (including 7 selections as a First-Team All-Pro), and to the Pro Bowl 13 times. He’s one of only four players since 2000 to be named the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year more than once. Lewis retired after winning his second Super Bowl championship after the 2012 season.
