Altered Carbon (Canceled)
Science fiction shows are hot right now, and Netflix tried to capitalize on that with Altered Carbon, a series based on the novel of the same name by Richard Morgan.
The series takes place in a world where consciousness can be transferred to different bodies. The main character, Takeshi Kovacs, is an investigator who must solve a murder. If you aren’t already confused, the show may be for you. They made it through two seasons and 18 episodes before execs pulled the plug.
F is For Family (Renewed)
It’s a good news-bad news situation for F Is For Family. Yes, it’s been renewed for a fifth season. That’s great news because the show is really funny. The bad news is that the fifth season will be its last. So if you’re a fan of the show, enjoy this victory lap.
The show was co-created by stand-up legend Bill Burr, and these last few episodes are slated to go live sometime this year. Stay tuned for the exact release dates.
Away (Canceled)
It’s easy to understand why this space drama starring Hillary Swank got the ax. The show cost Netflix a reported $6 million per episode to make. That’s a chunk of change.
Netflix has not been immune to the pandemic related economic downturn and expensive projects like Away cannot be given time to gather an audience. Unfortunately for Away, not even Hillary Swank could draw a big-enough audience to pay the bills.
