Best: Los Angeles Chargers – Junior Seau
Junior Seau is one of the greatest linebackers of all-time, and the greatest Charger of all-time. He was the team’s leader on and off the field. He was named to the Pro Bowl 12 straight times from 1992 on and was the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year the same year. He helped take the Chargers to the Super Bowl in 1994, only to lose to the San Francisco 49ers.
Worst: Los Angeles Chargers – Ryan Leaf
Ryan Leaf is regarded as one of the biggest draft busts of all-time. He played just 3 seasons in the NFL but managed only 25 games. Leaf’s downfall was a combination of injuries, bad decisions, and work ethic. His career is even starker when you compare it to the man he was picked directly behind, Peyton Manning. As if his playing career wasn’t bad enough, his life since he left football has turned even more tragic.
