Best: Green Bay Packers – Brett Favre
Brett Favre revitalized one of the NFL’s great franchises when he arrived in 1992. Just a few years later he had taken the Packers to two straight Super Bowls, winning one of them. Favre was an 11-time Pro Bowler and a three-time NFL MVP. Later in his career, he drew the ire of the Packer faithful when he joined their rivals, the Minnesota Vikings, but all was eventually forgiven.
Worst: Green Bay Packers – Tony Mandarich
Tony Mandarich was touted as the “Best offensive line prospect ever” while at Michigan State. He was a consensus All-American and a two-time Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year. So of course, the Packers took him with the second overall pick in the 1989 draft. Mandarich turned out to be one of the biggest busts in NFL history and was cut by the Packers just 3 years later.
