Popular Mechanics: “This 92,000-seat venue retains the charm of the original 30,000-seat building in big part because of its signature feature. The Bulldogs play football “between the hedges” because an English privet hedge (which some believe to be Chinese privet) surrounds the field.”

Our Take: A true southern gem, Sanford Stadium is home to the Georgia Bulldogs and their canine mascot, the stout and stocky, UGA X. This UGA is the latest in a line of UGA’s, all related, to grace the sidelines on college football Saturdays. UGA X gets Georgia fans wound up “between the hedges” each and every week and coach Kirby Smart has the ‘Dawgs competing for conference and national titles each season.
