Vince Carter’s early days with the Toronto Raptors were so much more than just his “half man, half amazing” dunks. The 5th overall pick in the 1998 NBA Draft helped bring the young Raptors to the brink of playoff contention (they finished with a franchise-best .460 winning percentage his rookie year), as Carter started 49 of 50 games and averaged 18.3 points per game – the best among all rookies that year.

He finished his first year in the NBA being named to the NBA’s All-Rookie First Team, and the Rookie of the Year award.
