You will be forgiven if you don’t recognize these puppies. These are the godfather of all hiking sneakers. The Lava Dome was born out of the 1980’s fitness wave. You may not recognize these as a “hybrid” but there’s a mix of mesh and suede on there.

Sure, Nike’s done a lot in the hiking/outdoors shoe game, but it all wouldn’t be possible without the Lava Dome. That’s right, no Mowabb without the Lava Dome. No Pegasus or Terra Kiger either.
