7. CB Tre’Davious White Drafted By: Buffalo Bills (2017)
Tre’Davious White was the fifth cornerback selected in the 2017 NFL Draft, and he quickly ascended to the top of the Bills depth chart and was named the team’s number one corner his rookie season. White intercepted four passes and returned a fumble for a touchdown as a rookie, and Pro Football Focus rated White as the third best cornerback in all of football. He was a finalist for 2017 Defensive Rookie of the Year and led a top ranked Bills defense to the playoffs for the first time in 17 years.
Bizarrely, White’s most memorable play as a rookie may have been one he was on the receiving end for. White intercepted a Tom Brady pass intended for Rob Gronkowski, and as White lay on the ground after the play, Gronk jumped onto him with The People’s Elbow, drawing a personal foul and giving White a concussion. Gronkowski was suspended a game for the hit and White thankfully did not miss any time.
