1. Chicago Midway International Airport (Worst)
Viewed from above, the runways form a giant “X” on the ground which is a quite stunning sight to behold. Unfortunately, once you get inside the airport the sights are quite a bit less stunning. It’s presently undergoing renovations in order to keep it up with the times, which is much needed as the review’s report.
One Google reviewer put it this way, “Inadequate restrooms. Always a zoo, and even with thousands of people here, you cannot get a drink or food after 10 o’clock. The entire place shuts down in terms of business. Poor practices that must leave enormous sums of money on the table.” Midway is the worst. Simply the worst.
15. St. Louis Lambert International Airport (Best)
Lambert Airport has a long important history in American aviation history. Built in the late 1890’s as a launch for balloons, it was toured by the Wright Brothers as they gathered ideas for their first flying machines. In the late 1920’s, Lambert became the first airport with an air traffic control system.
One Google reviewer has this to say about the airport, “I like this easy to navigate airport. The red rocking chairs and art between gate 33 and 34 are a nice touch. There was a unique piano with an octopus painted on it, but not sure how long it will be there. Also, like the close access to rail that goes to the arch.”
