Kawhi Leonard would go from enigmatic talent with all the talent you could ask to the “heir apparent” to Tim Duncan in San Antonio, to the guy who publicly demanded a trade to Los Angeles, to the guy who shocked the entire sports world by leading the Toronto Raptors to an NBA Championship in 2019. Along the way, we also saw Leonard emerge as the best on-ball defender in the NBA, and perhaps one of the best defenders in NBA history.

Leonard got his wish to return back to his native Southern California in the summer of 2019, when he signed with the Los Angeles Clippers, and recruited All-Star forward Paul George to join him.
