In his third (and final) season at the University of Nebraska, running back Mike Rozier ran for 2,148 yards, which was the second-highest total ever recorded in a year. Unsurprisingly, Rozier won the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award and the Heisman Trophy in 1983. During his last two years in Lincoln, Rozier ran for just under 4,000 yards, and had 44 total rushing touchdowns.

Rozier’s professional football career started with a two-year stint in the NFL, before playing eight seasons in the NFL with the Houston Oilers and Atlanta Falcons. Though he did run for 1,361 yards in his second season in the USFL, he had only one season with more than 1,000 yards rushing in the NFL.
