If you’ve ever wondered why poets aren’t as big of a deal as they used to be, it’s because Bob Dylan discovered you could make a lot more money as a poet if you were a musician. Dylan is responsible for some of the most important song lyrics of the 20th century.
Dylan actually won a Nobel Prize for Literature in 2016 and compared himself to Shakespeare in his acceptance comments. Dylan is still out there on the road, as if anyone is surprised. He’s been touring virtually non-stop since the late 80s in what has been dubbed the “Never Ending Tour.”
