Alabama Crimson Tide

The Crimson Tide wear one of the most traditional football helmets in all of college football, so there was a risk any attempt to create something new would look tacky. However, these are a home run. The over-sized A draws the eye, but the houndstooth pattern underneath is a stroke of brilliance. It’s subtle, yet present enough for the nod to the great Bear Bryant. It’s great.

Alabama’s helmets are a very classic look, but even classics need an update now and then. Don’t expect them to break with tradition down there in Tuscaloosa, but they probably should. With numbers on both the front nod back of jerseys, do we need them on both sides of the helmet too?
